John, Managing Director and Founder of the Exclusive Group of Companies, has been directly involved in the world of Household Staff for more than 25 years. John’s successful career spans over 10 years as a Butler / Estate Manager / Lifestyle Manager and during the past decade in recruitment of Household staff.

John’s early career started at Buckingham Palace, followed by the British Embassy in Paris. Having himself managed multiple properties and staff worldwide for high profile families, his in-depth knowledge and expertise is widely recognised and highly respected.

Now a father of 4, with 2 beautiful girls and twin boys, John fully understands the challenges of balancing work and family life. John and his wife have also been through the processes of employing an experienced Maternity Nurse and professional Nanny.

Katie Shrubb

Consultant

Katie studied Social Anthropology at the University of Cambridge and went on to specialize in Child Development and Pedagogy. As Governess, Katie has over 10 years of experience working within private international households – proxy parenting, managing teams of Nannies, and coaching children.

Katie has lived and worked in eight different counties, across three continents. As a result, she has gained useful insight into diverse cultural perspectives on edu-caring and family systems.

Understanding the requirements, complexities, and dynamics of staffed households, Katie is dedicated to helping families find their ideal match and create a stimulating, balanced, and joyful environment for their children

Roxie Vella

Consultant

Roxie joined the Exclusive Group in November 2021. Roxie is a qualified Nanny with over 10 years’ experience working in private households, taking care of new-borns up to teenage years, she therefore has a strong understanding of the importance of a nanny-employer relationship.

Roxie is the middle child in her family and is often the one her sisters turn to for advice or a hand to hold. Now as a working Mother of two children she also grasps the importance of experience, empathy, commitment, and structure providing quality childcare. Roxie has also been through the process of employing an experienced Tutor to prepare her daughter for upcoming exams.

Isabella Field

Senior Consultant

Isabella joined the Exclusive Group in March 2018, originally as part of our office team working solely on temporary placements. Isabella has now progressed to the position of Senior Consultant overseeing permanent roles. With her impeccable administration skills and direct mentoring by the Managing Director and Recruitment Director, Isabella can deliver an efficient and professional service to all clients and candidates.

Isabella is the oldest daughter in her family – she has always been responsible and nurturing to her older brother and younger sister. Now Isabella is a working mum of an adorable, independent, energetic toddler who may sometimes be heard in the background of her conversations when working from home.

Having returned to work when her daughter was 7 months old, Isabella understands the importance of finding the right ‘match’ on not only experience/qualifications but also on personality.

Jacqueline Townsend

Strategic Business Advisor

Jacqueline, as Recruitment Director, oversees all the Consultants and recruitment matters for EHS.  Besides her extensive knowledge and experience of the private household environment and recruitment business, she raised her son, whilst working full-time, in 7 different countries throughout Europe, Asia, Australia and the USA. Jacqueline therefore understands first-hand the intricacies of employing reliable and trusted Nannies and in the latter years Tutors who successfully assisted her son to adapt from one school system to another.

Clare Houghton

Personal Assistant

Clare, Personal Assistant to the Founder and Managing Director of the Exclusive Group, brings over 25 years’ experience from senior PA positions within a prestigious multinational company as well as a large US law firm. Clare also assists our Accounts Manager when required and ensures that the Exclusive Nannies database is maintained at all times.

As well as providing support to the Exclusive Group, Clare is a proud stepmother to two sons and Nana to two beautiful grandchildren.

Emily Hughes

Office Administrator

Emily joined as Office Administrator to the Exclusive Group in July 2022.  Emily supports our team of Consultants with all admin tasks as well as managing incoming emails, CV formatting and reference checking, and managing the social media for both Exclusive Nannies and Exclusive Household Staff.

Penny & Betty

Mental Health Support Officers

Penny joined the Exclusive Group in January 2018, followed by Betty in March 2020. They have both since supported the office in everyday tasks.

Penny is our key listener and voice of reason; she silently offers her advice whenever needed. Whereas Betty loves to voice her opinions and pitches in with a comment... or two, so apologies in advance if you hear her in the background of our calls.

They are both without a doubt key members of the Exclusive Nannies team.
